When you spend hours on end focusing or staring at things, you end up stressing your eyes, which ends up leading to eye strain. Symptoms of eye strain include watery eyes, burning eyes, and even neck or shoulder pain.

1. The 20-20-20 rule for Healthy Vision:

Set an alarm for every 20 minutes. When the alarm sounds, give your eyes a 20 second break, look at something 20 feet away. 20 minutes-20 seconds-20 feet. The 20-20-20 rule is a great exercise, designed to reduce stress on your eyes, and is especially useful if you spend a lot of time staring at a computer screen.

2. Keep your work 12-15 inches from your eyes

If you are doing something that requires careful attention, such as sewing, knitting, or even reading a book, try to keep the object 12-15 inches away from your eyes. This, combined with plenty of light on what you are focusing on, helps reduce the stress on your eyes and promotes healthier vision.

If you include these tips into your day-to-day life, your eyes will benefit from greatly reduced stress and healthy vision!
